Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By the winds sent forth with beneficence. 1 which then blow tempestuously 2 By those which cause earth's vegetation to revive; 3 By those who winnow with a winnowing, 4 and by those who reveal revelations (to the prophets) 5 to provide excuses for some and to give warnings to others: 6 that whatever with which you have been warned will inevitably come to pass. 7 So when the stars are extinguished, 8 And when the sky is riven asunder, 9 And when the mountains are carried away as dust, 10 And when the apostles are collected at the appointed time, 11 For what day is that time fixed? 12 For the Day of Sorting out. 13 And what knowest thou what the Day of Decision is? 14 Woe on that day unto the beliers 15 Did We not destroy the ancient people 16 Thereafter We shall cause to follow them the latter ones. 17 Thus do We deal with men of sin. 18 Woe on that Day to those who reject the truth! 19 Created We you not of water despicable, 20 and place it in a secure place 21 For a known term? 22 Thus We have determined the stages of development and Our power to determine is excellent indeed. 23 Woe that day unto those who cry it lies! 24 Have We not made the earth a receptacle 25 For the living and the dead, 26 And We placed therein lofty, firmly set mountains and have given you to drink sweet water. 27 Ruin is for the deniers on that day! 28 Proceed to that (the Day of Judgment) which you have rejected. 29 "Depart ye to a Shadow (of smoke ascending) in three columns, 30 Neither shading nor availing against the flame. 31 it indeed throws up sparks like castles, 32 and yellow camels. 33 Alas the woe that day for those who deny! 34 that Day on which they will not [be able to] utter a word, 35 Nor will it be permitted for them to make an excuse. 36 Ah woe, that Day, to the Rejecters of Truth! 37 Such is the Day of Decision. We will gather you with the ancients. 38 If now ye have any wit, outwit Me. 39 Woe on that day to the rejecters. 40
