And most surely this is a revelation from the Lord of the worlds. 192 The honest Spirit (Gabriel) brought it down 193 to your heart that you might become one of those who warn (others on behalf of Allah), 194 In plain Arabic speech. 195 And verily, it (the Quran, and its revelation to Prophet Muhammad SAW) is (announced) in the Scriptures [i.e. the Taurat (Torah) and the Injeel (Gospel)] of former people. 196 Is it not a Sign to them - (to wit, the Makkans) - that the learned men of the Children of Israel know that? 197 And had We sent it down upon a person other than an Arab, 198 and he had recited it to them, they would not have believed in it. 199 Thus it passes through the hearts of the criminals. 200 They will not believe therein until they behold the torment afflictive. 201 that will come upon them [on resurrection,] all of a sudden, without their being aware [of its approach]; 202 Then they will say: are we to be respited? 203 Do they wish Us then to hasten the punishment? 204 Think! If We let them enjoy life for some years, 205 Then there comes to them that with which they are threatened, 206 of what avail will be the provisions of life which they have been granted to enjoy? 207 And We did not destroy any town but it had (its) warners, 208 As a reminder; and never have We been unjust. 209 It was not the devils who brought down the Quran: 210 It behoveth them not, nor they can. 211 The satans are barred from listening to anything from the heavens. 212 So do not call any other god beside Allah lest you become of those who will be punished, 213 Warn your tribe and your near kinsmen. 214 And take those believers under your wing who follow you. 215 Then if they disobey you say to them: "I am quit of what you do." 216 Have trust in the Majestic and All-merciful God, 217 Who seeth thee when thou standest up (to pray) 218 and observes your movements among those who prostrate themselves. 219 Indeed, He is the Hearing, the Knowing. 220 Shall I inform you upon whom the devils descend? 221 They come down to every mendacious sinner, 222 They pass on what is heard, and most of them are liars. 223 And as to the poets, those who go astray follow them. 224 Do you not see how they wander aimlessly in every valley, 225 And they say what they do not do, 226 Except those who believe, and do good works and remember Allah in abundance and became victorious after they had been wronged. The wrongdoers will surely know which turn they will be returning to (Hell). 227
