۞ (Then will the command be given): “Muster all the wrong-doers and their spouses and the deities whom they used to serve 22 other than Allah, and guide them to the Path of Hell! 23 And stop them, for they must be questioned. 24 "'What is the matter with you that ye help not each other?'" 25 Indeed, today they are surrendering themselves completely.” 26 They will turn upon one another, and question one another. 27 They will say, "Indeed, you used to come at us from the right." 28 They will say: “Nay, you yourselves were not the ones who would believe. 29 And we had over you no authority, but ye were a people exorbitant. 30 “So the Word of our Lord has proved true upon us; we will surely have to taste (the punishment).” 31 Therefore we perverted you, and we ourselves were perverts.' 32 On that Day, they will all share the chastisement. 33 Verily that is how We shall deal with Sinners. 34 Indeed they, when it was said to them, "There is no deity but Allah," were arrogant 35 and said: “Shall we forsake our deities for the sake of a distracted poet?” 36 Nay! he has come with the (very) Truth, and he confirms (the Message of) the messengers (before him). 37 Now certainly you shall be tasting the painful chastisement, 38 And ye shall be required not except for that which ye have been doing; 39 Save the servants of Allah, the purified ones. 40 For them is a Sustenance determined, 41 Fruits; and they shall be honoured, 42 (They will live) in the bountiful gardens, 43 on couches facing each other. 44 There will be circulated among them a cup [of wine] from a flowing spring, 45 White and delicious to the drinkers; 46 Neither they will have Ghoul (any kind of hurt, abdominal pain, headache, a sin, etc.) from that, nor will they suffer intoxication therefrom. 47 And with them will be mates of modest gaze, most beautiful of eye, 48 as if they were hidden pearls. 49 They will turn to one another with questions: 50 One of them will say: 'I had a companion 51 Who used to say: "Are you among those who believe (in resurrection after death). 52 That when we have died and become dust and bones, we will indeed be recompensed?'" 53 (The man) said: "Will you look down?" 54 He therefore looked down and saw him amidst the blazing fire. 55 He said: "By Allah! You have nearly ruined me. 56 If not for the favor of my Lord, I would have been of those brought in [to Hell]. 57 Are we then not to die 58 Except for our first death, and we will not be punished?" 59 Verily this! that is the supreme achievement. 60 For the like of this let the workers work. 61 Is that the better entertainment or the Tree of Zaqqum? 62 Truly We have made it (as) a trail for the Zalimun (polytheists, disbelievers, wrong-doers, etc.). 63 For it is a tree that springs out of the bottom of Hellfire: 64 Its produce is as it were the heads of the serpents. 65 And verily they must eat thereof and fill their bellies therewith. 66 Then on the top of that they will be given boiling water to drink so that it becomes a mixture (of boiling water and Zaqqum in their bellies). 67 then their return is unto Hell. 68 These are the ones who found their fathers steeped in error, 69 So in their footsteps they are being hastened on. 70 And truly before them, many of the ancients went astray;- 71 And assuredly We sent among them warners. 72 See how those who were warned met their end! 73 Save single-minded slaves of Allah. 74
