Hizb 46
< random >
Verily Jonah is one of the apostles. 139 When he fled unto the laden ship, 140 And lots were cast (when a storm overtook them), he was rejected, (and thrown overboard). 141 The fish swallowed him up and he deserved (all this). 142 Had he not glorified God, 143 he would certainly have remained inside the fish until the Day of Resurrection. 144 ۞ But We cast him forth on the naked shore while he was sick, 145 and We caused a pumpkin tree to grow over him. 146 And We sent him towards a hundred thousand people, in fact more. 147 And they believed, therefor We gave them comfort for a while. 148 Now ask them whether your Lord has daughters, whereas they have sons. 149 Or did We create the angels as females while they were witnesses?" 150 Then is it of their lying that they say: 151 "God has begotten [a son]"; and verily, they are lying [too, when they say,] 152 Does He prefer sons to daughters? 153 Woe to you! How terrible is your Judgment. 154 Do you not understand? 155 Or have you a clear authority? 156 Bring your Book, if what you say is true! 157 And they have invented a kinship between Him and the jinns, but the jinns know well that they have indeed to appear (before Him) (i.e. they will be brought for accounts). 158 God is far above what they attribute to Him, 159 But not so the servants of Allah, the purified ones. 160 Lo! verily, ye and that which ye worship, 161 Cannot lead astray [turn away from Him (Allah) anyone of the believers], 162 except those who are doomed to enter hell. 163 There is not one of us (angels) but has his known place (or position); 164 we are those who stand ranged in ranks. 165 And verily we! we hallow. 166 And indeed they (Arab pagans) used to say; 167 "If we had a message from [those of] the former peoples, 168 we would certainly be true servants of God." 169 But they disbelieve in it (the Koran), but soon they shall know! 170 We have already given Our promise to Our Messengers 171 that they shall certainly be succoured, 172 And that Our forces,- they surely must conquer. 173 So withdraw from them (O Muhammad) awhile, 174 And (then) see them, so they too shall see. 175 So are they being impatient for Our punishment? 176 When it descends upon their courtyards, evil will be the morning of those forewarned. 177 Withdraw from them awhile 178 And see, for they are going to see. 179 Exalted is your Lord, the Lord of might, above what they describe. 180 And peace upon the messengers. 181 and all praise be to Allah, the Lord of the Universe. 182
God Almighty has spoken the truth.
End of Surah: The Arrangers (Al-Saaffaat). Sent down in Mecca after Animals (Al-An 'aam) before Luqmaan (Luqmaan)
