The All Compassionate (Al-Rahman)
78 verses, revealed in Medina after Thunder (Al-Ra'ad) before The Human (Al-Insan)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ Allah, the Most Gracious 1 Has taught (you mankind) the Quran (by His Mercy). 2 Created man, 3 He has taught him speech (and intelligence). 4 The sun and moon revolve to a computation; 5 The stars and the trees prostrate themselves. 6 And the sky He hath uplifted; and He hath set the measure, 7 That you not transgress within the balance. 8 And establish the measures justly, nor decrease the due weight. 9 And the earth He laid [out] for the creatures. 10 Therein is fruit and date-palms, producing spathes (enclosing dates); 11 the grain in the blade; and aromatic herbs. 12 Which, then, of the benefits of your Lord, will ye twain belie? 13 He has created man from dry, rotten clay like the potter's, 14 and He created the jinn of a smokeless fire. 15 Which, then, of your Sustainer's powers can you disavow? 16 He is the Lord of the two easts and the Lord of the two wests. 17 Which favors of your Lord will you both belie? 18 He has let loosed the two seas (the salt water and the sweet) meeting together. 19 [yet] between them is a barrier which they may not transgress. 20 So O men and jinns! Which favour of your Lord will you deny? 21 Pearls and corals come from both. 22 (Jinn and mankind) - which of the favors of your Lord would you then deny? 23 And to Him belong the ships [with sails] elevated in the sea like mountains. 24 Which is it, of the favours of your Lord, that ye deny? 25

قراءة القرآن مترجماً إلى الإنجليزية أو أية لغة أخرى أشبه بقراءة كتب التفسير من قراءة ترجمات حرفية.
Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.
