Noah (Nooh)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
Verily We! We sent Nuh unto his people saying: warn thy people ere there come unto them torment afflictive. 1 He said, 'O my people, I am unto you a clear warner, 2 "That you should worship Allah (Alone), be dutiful to Him, and obey me, 3 He will forgive you some of your faults and grant you a delay to an appointed term; surely the term of Allah when it comes is not postponed; did you but know! 4 He said; 'My Lord, I have called my people by night and by day, 5 "But my call only increases (their) flight (from the Right). 6 "And verily! Every time I called unto them that You might forgive them, they thrust their fingers into their ears, covered themselves up with their garments, and persisted (in their refusal), and magnified themselves in pride. 7 "Then verily, I called to them openly (aloud); 8 and preached to them in public, and also addressed them in secret. 9 Then I said, Ask forgiveness of your Lord, surely He is the most Forgiving: 10 and He will loose heaven upon you in torrents 11 and give to you wealth and sons, and provide you with gardens and rivers. 12 What is amiss with you that you do not look forward to the majesty of Allah 13 seeing that He has created [every one of] you in successive stages? 14 Do you not consider how Allah has created seven heavens in layers 15 setting in them the moon as a light and the sun as a lantern? 16 And God caused you to grow out of the earth, 17 "'And in the End He will return you into the (earth), and raise you forth (again at the Resurrection)? 18 And Allah hath made the earth unto you an expanse. 19 that thereof you may thread ways, ravines." 20
