Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
By those [winds] sent forth in gusts 1 and then storming on with a tempest's force! 2 And scatter (things) far and wide; 3 by (the angels) who make a clear distinction between right and wrong 4 And those [angels] who deliver a message 5 to excuse some and warn others: 6 Most surely what you are threatened with must come to pass. 7 So when the stars are made to lose their light, 8 when heaven shall be split 9 The mountains will be blown away as dust. 10 and when the Messengers' time is set 11 For what day has the term [of all this] been set? 12 For the Day of Sorting out. 13 And what will make you comprehend what the day of decision is? 14 Woe that Day to the deniers (of the Day of Resurrection)! 15 Did We not destroy the men of old (for their evil)? 16 Thereafter We shall cause to follow them the latter ones. 17 In this wise We do with the culprits. 18 On that day, woe upon those who have rejected God's revelations! 19 Did We not create you out of a humble fluid 20 which We placed within a sure lodging 21 for an appointed time? 22 Thus We have determined the stages of development and Our power to determine is excellent indeed. 23 Woe on that Day to those who reject the truth! 24 Have We not made the earth a receptacle. 25 For the living and the dead. 26 and did We not firmly fix towering mountains on it and give you sweet water to drink? 27 Woe on that Day unto those who give the lie to the truth! 28 Depart to that which you belied! 29 Depart into the shadow of three masses, 30 which neither provides (cooling) shade nor protection against the flames; 31 Surely it sends up sparks like palaces, 32 As though they were camels yellow tawny. 33 Woe on that Day to those who belied it! 34 That will be a Day when they shall not speak (during some part of it), 35 Nor will it be open to them to put forth pleas. 36 Woe, that Day, to the deniers. 37 That will be a Day of Sorting out! We shall gather you together and those before (you)! 38 So if you have any ploy, try it against Me! 39 Woe on that Day to those that give the lie to the Truth! 40
