The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
By the angels who violently tear-out the souls of the disbelievers from their bodies, 1 and gently take it away; 2 And who glide with ease. 3 And those who race each other in a race 4 And who plan the implementation. 5 The day the convulsive (first blast) shatters convulsively 6 And the following event will come after it. 7 hearts will throb on that Day 8 [and] their eyes downcast... 9 They say (now): "What! shall we indeed be returned to (our) former state? 10 even after we have turned into decayed bones?" 11 They say: "It would in that case, be a return with loss!" 12 But it shall be only a single scare, 13 And suddenly they will be [alert] upon the earth's surface. 14 Has there come to you the story of Musa (Moses)? 15 Recall what time his Lord called unto him in the holy vale of Tuwa. 16 saying 'Go to Pharaoh, he has become exceedingly insolent, 17 And say to him, "Would you like to reform yourself? 18 Then I shall guide thee unto thy Lord so that thou shalt fear. 19 Then did (Moses) show him the Great Sign. 20 In response, he denied and disobeyed. 21 Then he turned back striving. 22 So he gathered the people, and proclaimed. 23 And then said, “I am your most supreme lord.” 24 So Allah seized him with the punishment of the Everlasting Life, and of this world. 25 Surely there is a great lesson in it for whoever would fear (Allah). 26
