The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
By the angels who violently tear-out the souls of the disbelievers from their bodies, 1 and those that blow gently, 2 and by [the clouds] that swim serenely and 3 By the angels hastening, 4 Then arrange to do (the Commands of their Lord), 5 On the Day the blast [of the Horn] will convulse [creation], 6 And there will follow it the next blast. 7 Hearts on that day shall palpitate, 8 and their eyes shall be humbled. 9 They say: 'What, are we being restored as we were before, 10 What! when we are rotten bones? 11 They shall say, 'That then were a losing return!' 12 But it shall be only a single cry, 13 and lo, they will all be in the open plain. 14 Has the story of Moses reached thee? 15 How his Lord called him in the holy vale of Tuwa, 16 Go to Firon, surely he has become inordinate. 17 And say, "Hast thou the will to purify thyself; 18 "'And that I guide thee to thy Lord, so thou shouldst fear Him?'" 19 And he showed him the tremendous token. 20 But (the Pharaoh) disavowed and disobeyed. 21 and brusquely turned his back [on Moses]; 22 and gathered his people and declared: 23 then said: 'I am your lord, the most high' 24 So Allah seized him with the punishment of the Everlasting Life, and of this world. 25 Indeed in this is a lesson for one who fears. 26
