He Frowned ('Abasa)
42 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Stars (Al-Najm) before Destiny (Al-Qadr)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
۞ (The Prophet (Peace be upon him)) frowned and turned away, 1 Because there came to him the blind man (interrupting). 2 But what could tell you that per chance he might become pure (from sins)? 3 or yet remember, and the Reminder profit him. 4 Now he who waxes indifferent, 5 to him thou attendest 6 although it is not for you to be concerned if he remained unpurified. 7 And for him who came to you striving, 8 and fears (Allah), 9 Of him you are neglectful and divert your attention to another, 10 By no means! Verily it is an admonition. 11 (and whoso wills, shall remember it) 12 (Contained) in honoured pages, 13 Exalted, pure. 14 In the hands of scribes 15 Honourable and obedient. 16 Woe to man! How ungrateful he is! 17 From what stuff hath He created him? 18 Out of a drop of sperm! He creates and proportions him, 19 Then made his passage easy (at birth); 20 then causes him to die and buries him, 21 Then, when He willed, He brought him out. (As during the night of Holy Prophet’s ascension, when all the Prophets gathered behind him in the Al Aqsa mosque in Jerusalem. Or when Allah will raise everyone on the Day of Resurrection.) 22 Yet man declines to do His bidding. 23 So man must look at his food. 24 That We watered it in abundance. 25 Then We broke open the earth, splitting [it with sprouts], 26 then caused the grain to grow out of it, 27 And grapes and clover, 28 And olive-trees and palm-trees 29 And gardens, dense with many trees, 30 And fruits and fodder: 31 (These are made so as to be) means of enjoyment for you and your cattle. 32 But when there comes the Deafening Blast 33 on that Day a man shall flee from his own brother, 34 Mother and father, 35 And his wife and his children, 36 Each one of them, that Day, will have enough concern (of his own) to make him indifferent to the others. 37 Many faces will that day be bright, 38 Laughing, rejoicing. 39 And other faces, on that day, with dust upon them, 40 and covered by darkness. 41 Such will be the Kafarah (disbelievers in Allah, in His Oneness, and in His Messenger Muhammad (Peace be upon him), etc.), the Fajarah (wicked evil doers). 42
Almighty Allah's Truth.
End of Surah: He Frowned ('Abasa). Sent down in Mecca after The Stars (Al-Najm) before Destiny (Al-Qadr)
