Hizb 46
< random >
And lo! Jonah verily was of those sent (to warn) 139 When he fled unto the laden ship, 140 Then he joined the lots, and was of the condemned. 141 And the fish swallowed him while he was blameworthy; 142 Had he not been of them who glorify Allah, 143 He would have indeed remained inside its belly (the fish) till the Day of Resurrection. 144 ۞ But We cast him forth on the naked shore while he was sick, 145 And We caused to grow up for him a gourdplant. 146 We sent him to a hundred thousand or more people. 147 So they accepted faith We therefore gave them usage for a while. 148 (Muhammad), ask them, "Do daughters belong to your Lord and sons to them? 149 Did We create the angels as females the while they witnessed?” 150 Lo! it is of their falsehood that they say: 151 "Allah has begotten children"? but they are liars! 152 Has He chosen daughters above sons? 153 Woe to you! How terrible is your Judgment. 154 What, and will you not remember? 155 Or, is there for you a clear warranty 156 Then bring your Book if you are truthful! 157 And they have appointed a relationship between Him and the jinns; and indeed the jinns surely know that they will be brought forth. 158 God is far above what they attribute to Him, 159 But not so the servants of Allah, the purified ones. 160 You and whatever you worship 161 Can mislead anyone away from Him, 162 Except those who are predestined to burn in Hell! 163 As for us, there is none but has an appointed station. 164 "And we are verily ranged in ranks (for service); 165 And indeed, we are those who exalt Allah." 166 They used to say: 167 "Had we received guidance from the people living before us, 168 we would surely have been God's chosen servants," 169 But when it came to them, they rejected it. They shall soon come to know (the end of such an attitude). 170 Our word had already been given before to Our votaries, the apostles, -- 171 That they verily would be made triumphant. 172 And most surely Our host alone shall be the victorious ones. 173 So turn thou from them for a while, 174 And watch them, for they will soon see. 175 Would they hasten on Our doom? 176 When that chastisement will descend upon their courtyard, evil shall that Day be for those who had been warned. 177 Withdraw from them awhile 178 And watch, for they will (soon) see. 179 Glory to thy Lord, the Lord of Honour and Power! (He is free) from what they ascribe (to Him)! 180 And peace be unto those sent (to warn). 181 And praise be to Allah, Lord of the Worlds! 182
True are the words of God the Almighty.
End of Surah: The Arrangers (Al-Saaffaat). Sent down in Mecca after Animals (Al-An 'aam) before Luqmaan (Luqmaan)
