The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
When the sun Kuwwirat (wound round and lost its light and is overthrown). 1 And when the stars darken, 2 the mountains are scattered about as dust, 3 The ten-month pregnant female camels are abandoned, 4 when the savage beasts shall be mustered, 5 And when the seas shall be filled, 6 when the souls are coupled (to their body), 7 When the female (infant), buried alive, is questioned - 8 for what sin she was killed, 9 And when the Writs shall be lain open, 10 And when the heaven shall be stripped, 11 and Hell is stoked, 12 And when the Garden is brought nigh, 13 (Then) shall each soul know what it has put forward. 14 I swear by the receding stars, 15 Those that run [their courses] and disappear - 16 And the close of night, 17 and the morn as it softly breathes: 18 truly this is the word of a noble Messenger 19 [Who is] possessed of power and with the Owner of the Throne, secure [in position], 20 Obeyed there [in the heavens] and trustworthy. 21 Your companion is not mad. 22 he truly beheld [the angel - beheld] him on the clear horizon; 23 He (Muhammad) is not accused of lying about the unseen. 24 This is not the utterance of an accursed devil. 25 Whither then will you go? 26 It is naught but a Reminder unto all beings, 27 To whomsoever among you who wills to walk straight, 28 but you shall not, unless Allah wills, the Lord of all the Worlds. 29
