So none believed in Moses, save a seed of his people, for fear of Pharaoh and their Council, that they would persecute them; and Pharaoh was high in the land, and he was one of the prodigals. 83 And Moses said: O my people! If ye have believed in Allah then put trust in Him, if ye have indeed surrendered (unto Him)! 84 So they said, "Upon Allah do we rely. Our Lord, make us not [objects of] trial for the wrongdoing people 85 Save us, through Your Mercy, from the unbelieving nation' 86 And We revealed to Musa and his brother, saying: Take for your people houses to abide in Egypt and make your houses places of worship and keep up prayer and give good news to the believers. 87 Moses prayed: "Our Lord! Thou hast indeed bestowed on Pharaoh and his chiefs splendour and wealth in the life of the present, and so, Our Lord, they mislead (men) from Thy Path. Deface, our Lord, the features of their wealth, and send hardness to their hearts, so they will not believe until they see the grievous penalty." 88 He said, 'Your prayer is answered; so go you straight, and follow not the way of those that know not.' 89 ۞ And We brought the Children of Israel over the sea; and Pharaoh and his hosts followed them insolently and impetuously till, when the drowning overtook him, he said, 'I believe that there is no god but He in whom the Children of Israel believe; I am of those that surrender.' 90 What! Now! When hitherto thou hast rebelled and been of the wrong-doers? 91 “This day We shall salvage your body so that you may be a sign for those after you; and indeed most people are neglectful of Our signs.” 92
