The News (Al-Naba')
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
۞ What are they asking (one another)? 1 Of the mighty tiding 2 About which they have been differing? 3 No indeed; they shall soon know! 4 again, no indeed; soon will they come to know. 5 Have We not made the earth as a cradle 6 The mountains tent-pins? 7 And We created you in pairs, 8 And made your sleep [a means for] rest 9 made the night as a covering, 10 and We made the day for a livelihood. 11 Have We not made seven strong heavens above you, 12 (the sun) as a shining torch 13 And do We not send down from the clouds water in abundance, 14 In order to produce grain and plants with it. 15 And gardens of thick foliage. 16 Indeed, the Day of Decision is an appointed time, 17 It is a Day whereon the trumpet will be blown, and ye will come in multitudes. 18 and the heaven shall be opened, and become gates, 19 And the mountains are removed and will be [but] a mirage. 20 Hell will lie in wait (for its prey). 21 A dwelling place for the Taghun (those who transgress the boundry limits set by Allah like polytheists, disbelievers in the Oneness of Allah, hyprocrites, sinners, criminals, etc.), 22 They will remain in it for ages. 23 Nothing cool shall they taste therein, nor any drink, 24 Except boiling water and benumbing cold: 25 as a fitting recompense for their deeds. 26 For that they used not to fear any account (for their deeds), 27 having given the lie to Our messages one and all: 28 and everything We have numbered in a Book. 29 So taste (the fruit of what you sowed), for We shall add nothing but torment, 30
