The Cheaters (Al-Mutaffifeen)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
WOE UNTO THOSE who give short measure: 1 Those who when they take the measure from mankind demand it full, 2 But if they give by measure or by weight to them, they cause loss. 3 What! Do they not expect that they will be raised? 4 on a great day 5 The day when (all) mankind stand before the Lord of the Worlds? 6 Indeed, the record of the disbelievers is in the lowest place, the Sijjeen. 7 And what will make thee know whatsoever the record in Sijjin is? 8 The record is a sealed text. 9 Woe, then, to those that give the lie, 10 who belied the Day of Recompense! 11 Yet none gives the lie to it except the transgressor immersed in sin; 12 When Our verses are recited to him, he says, "Legends of the former peoples." 13 No. In fact what they have been doing has rusted their hearts. 14 By no means! Verily on that Day from their Lord they will be shut out. 15 then they shall enter the Fire of Hell, 16 and be told: "This is the [very thing] to which you were wont to give the lie!" 17 By no means! Verily the record of the virtuous shall be in 'Illiyun. 18 and what shall teach thee what is Illiyun? 19 A book inscribed, 20 To which bear witness those nearest (to Allah, i.e. the angels). 21 Verily the virtuous shall be in Delight, 22 On adorned couches, observing. 23 upon their faces thou wilt see the brightness of bliss. 24 They shall be given to drink of a wine that is sealed, 25 Whose seal is musk - for this let (all) those strive who strive for bliss - 26 Blended with the water of Tasnim, (heights ultimate of evolution), 27 a source [of bliss] whereof those who are drawn close unto God shall drink. 28 Those in sin used to laugh at those who believed, 29 When passing by them, they would wink at one another 30 And when they returned to their own folk, they returned jesting; 31 And when they saw them, they said: "They have indeed gone astray." 32 (they said so although) they had not been appointed watchers over them. 33 This day it is those who believe who have the laugh of disbelievers, 34 On adorned couches, observing. 35 Have the unbelievers been duly rewarded for their deeds? 36
