The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
۞ When the heaven is sundered. 1 And has responded to its Lord and was obligated [to do so] 2 when the earth flattens out, 3 And has cast out all that was in it and became empty, 4 And listens and obeys its Lord, and it must do so; 5 O human, you are working hard towards your Lord and you will meet Him. 6 Then as for he who is given his record in his right hand, 7 He will be judged with an easy account 8 And he will return to his family rejoicing. 9 But he who is given the Record behind his back, 10 he shall call for destruction 11 And shall enter a blazing Fire, and made to taste its burning. 12 He used to live joyfully among his people, 13 he surely thought he would never revert. 14 But yes! Indeed, his Lord was ever of him, Seeing. 15 I swear by the twilight; 16 And by oath of the night and all that gathers in it. 17 by the moon, in its fullness 18 you shall proceed onwards from stage to stage. 19 Then what ails them, that they believe not, 20 and when the Koran is recited to them they do not bow? ۩ 21 Nay, but they who are bent on denying the truth give the lie [to this divine writ]! 22 and God knows very well what they are secreting. 23 So announce to them a painful torment. 24 Except for those who believe and do righteous deeds. For them is a reward uninterrupted. 25
