The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By the Sky and the Night-Visitant (therein);- 1 and what could make you know what it is that comes in the night? 2 It is the piercing star. 3 There is not a soul that does not have a guardian over it. 4 So man must consider from what he has been created. 5 He was created from spurting fluid, 6 issuing between the loins and the breast-bones. 7 Surely, He is Able to bring him back, 8 On the Day when man's deepest secrets shall be put to the test 9 Then he shall have no power nor any helper. 10 I swear by the raingiving heavens, 11 And by the Earth which opens out (for the gushing of springs or the sprouting of vegetation),- 12 Indeed, the Qur'an is a decisive statement, 13 not a flippant jest. 14 Verily, they are but plotting a plot (against you O Muhammad (Peace be upon him)). 15 And I (too) will make a scheme. 16 So grant the unbelievers a respite: let them alone for a while. 17
God Almighty has spoken the truth.
