And if they deny you, [O Muhammad], then say, "For me are my deeds, and for you are your deeds. You are disassociated from what I do, and I am disassociated from what you do." 41 And of them are some who hearken unto thee, so canst thou make the deaf hear, even though they apprehend not? 42 And there are those of them who look at you, but can you show the way to the blind though they will not see? 43 Surely God wrongs not men anything, but themselves men wrong. 44 And on the day when He will gather them as though they had not stayed but an hour of the day, they will know each other. They will perish indeed who called the meeting with Allah to be a lie, and they are not followers of the right direction. 45 And if We show you something of what We threaten them with, or cause you to die, yet to Us is their return, and Allah is the bearer of witness to what they do. 46 And for every Ummah (a community or a nation), there is a Messenger; when their Messenger comes, the matter will be judged between them with justice, and they will not be wronged. 47 And they say: When will this threat come about, if you are truthful? 48 Say, “I have no autonomy to benefit or hurt myself, except what Allah wills*; for every nation is a fixed promise; when their promise comes, they cannot postpone it nor can they advance it one moment. (* To empower me.) 49 Say: "Do ye see,- if His punishment should come to you by night or by day,- what portion of it would the sinners wish to hasten? 50 And when it comes to pass, will you believe in it? What! now (you believe), and already you wished to have it hastened on. 51 "At length will be said to the wrong-doers: 'Taste ye the enduring punishment! ye get but the recompense of what ye earned!'" 52 They seek to be informed by thee: "Is that true?" Say: "Aye! by my Lord! it is the very truth! and ye cannot frustrate it!" 53
