[But,] behold, as for those who are bent on denying the truth - [on that same Day] a voice will call out unto them: "Indeed, greater than your [present] loathing of yourselves was God's loathing of you [at the time] when you were called unto faith but went on denying the truth!" 10 They will say, "Our Lord! Twice You have made us die, and twice You have given us life! Now we have confessed our sins: is there any way out [of this]?" 11 That is because when Allah alone was called upon, you disbelieved, and when associates were given to Him, you believed; so judgment belongs to Allah, the High, the Great. 12 He it is Who shows you His Signs and sends down provision for you from the sky. Yet none takes heed except he who constantly turns to Allah. 13 Therefore worship Allah, as His sincere bondmen even if the disbelievers get annoyed. 14 Raised high above ranks (or degrees), (He is) the Lord of the Throne (of Authority): by His Command doth He send the Spirit (of inspiration) to any of His servants he pleases, that it may warn (men) of the Day of Mutual Meeting,- 15 The Day whereon they will appear: naught of them will be concealed from Allah, Whose is the dominion today? It is of Allah, the One, the Subduer. 16 This Day every soul will be recompensed for what it earned. No injustice today! Indeed, Allah is swift in account. 17 Warn them of the Day that is (ever) drawing near, when the hearts will (come) right up to the throats to choke (them); No intimate friend nor intercessor will the wrong-doers have, who could be listened to. 18 He knows that which deceives the eyes and what the breasts conceal. 19 And Allah renders the true judgement; and those whom they worship instead of Him do not judge at all; indeed Allah only, is the All Hearing, the All Seeing. 20
