Have you considered he who turns his back, 33 who at first gave a little, then later held back? 34 Does he have knowledge of the unseen, so he sees? 35 Or has he not been informed of what was in the scriptures of Moses 36 and about Abraham who fulfilled his duty (to God)? 37 that no soul shall bear the burden of another; 38 and that man shall have only that for which he strives; 39 That (the fruit of) his striving will soon come in sight: 40 and that he shall then be fully recompensed, 41 and that the final end is unto thy Lord, 42 And that it is He (Allah) Who makes (whom He wills) laugh, and makes (whom He wills) weep; 43 And that it is He (Allah) Who causes death and gives life; 44 And that He created pairs, the male and the female 45 out of a [mere] drop of sperm as it is poured forth, 46 And that only upon Him is the next revival? 47 And that it is He who enriches and suffices 48 And that He (Allah) is the Lord of Sirius (the star which the pagan Arabs used to worship); 49 It is He who utterly destroyed the ancient tribes of Ad, 50 And the Thamud nor gave them a lease of perpetual life. 51 as well as the people of Noah before them - [since,] verily, they all had been most willful in their evildoing and most overweening 52 He plunged the villages 53 and covered them with torment. 54 Which then of thy Lord's benefits wilt thou doubt? 55 This is a warner from the warners of ancient times. 56 The Approaching Day has approached. 57 None besides Allah can avert it, (or advance it, or delay it). 58 Do you marvel then at this discourse (the Koran)? 59 And you laugh at it and weep not, 60 while you are thoughtless? 61 Bow instead in adoration before God and worship Him. ۩ 62
