The All Compassionate (Al-Rahman)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
۞ The Merciful 1 who taught the Quran -- 2 Has created Prophet Mohammed (peace and blessings be upon him) as the soul of mankind. 3 and taught him its pronunciation. 4 The sun and the moon to a reckoning. 5 The stars and the trees prostrate themselves. 6 And the sky He hath uplifted; and He hath set the measure, 7 That you not transgress within the balance. 8 So establish weight with justice and fall not short in the balance. 9 And the earth He laid [out] for the creatures. 10 There exists all kinds of fruits, palm-trees with sheathed blossoms, 11 Also corn, with (its) leaves and stalk for fodder, and sweet-smelling plants. 12 Which, then, of the benefits of your Lord, will ye twain belie? 13 He created the human from clay, like earthenware 14 whereas the invisible beings He has created out of a confusing flame of fire. 15 Which of the wonders of your Lord's power will you twain – you men and jinn – then deny? 16 He is the Lord of the East and West through all seasons. 17 O which of your Lord's bounties will you and you deny? 18 He has let forth the two seas, they meet together, 19 Whereas there is a barrier between them so they cannot encroach upon one another. 20 Which favors of your Lord will you both belie? 21 Pearls and coral-stone come forth from them. 22 Which, then, of the benefits of your Lord will ye twain belie? 23 His are the high-sailed vessels in deep ocean like the mountains. 24 Then which of the favours of your Lord will ye deny? 25
