Al-Duhaa

The Forenoon (Al-Duhaa)

11 verses, revealed in Mecca after Dawn (Al-Fajr) before Cooling the Temper (Al-Sharrhh)

In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful

By the midday brightness 1 and by the night when it covers the world with peace: 2 Thy Sustainer has not forsaken thee, nor does He scorn thee: 3 and the Hereafter will indeed be better for you than the present life; 4 And indeed your Lord will soon give you so much that you will be pleased. (Allah seeks to please the Holy Prophet – peace and blessings be upon him.) 5 Did He not find you an orphan and take care of you? 6 And found thee lost on thy way, and guided thee? 7 And did He not find you in need and make you rich? 8 As for the orphan, do not oppress him, 9 And as for the petitioner, do not repel [him]. 10 But as for the favor of your Lord, report [it]. 11

True are the words of Allah the Almighty.
