S (Saad)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
Sad. I swear by the Quran, which is full of reminders of God, (that you are a Messenger). 1 Nay, but those who disbelieve are in false pride and schism. 2 How many a generation have We destroyed before their time [for this very sin]! And [how] they called [unto Us] when it was too late to escape! 3 They were surprised that one of them had come to them as warner; and the unbelievers said: "He is a deceiving sorcerer. 4 Does he make all the deities out to be one God? This is indeed a strange thing." 5 The chiefs among them departed saying: go, and persevere in your gods; verily this is a thing designed. 6 We have not heard of any such thing in the old religion. This is nothing but a fabrication. 7 Can it be that he alone has received the Quran?" In fact, they have doubts about My Quran and this is because they have not yet faced (My) torment. 8 Or is it that they have the treasures of the mercy of your Lord, the Mighty, the great Giver? 9 Or is theirs the kingdom of the heavens and earth and of what between them is? Why, then let them ascend the cords! 10 this host too, among other hosts, is bound to suffer defeat. 11 The people of Noah denied before them, and [the tribe of] 'Aad and Pharaoh, the owner of stakes, 12 and Thamood, and the people of Lot, and the men of the Thicket - those were the parties; 13 Each of them gave the lie to Messengers and My decree of chastisement came upon them. 14
