The Inevitable (Al-Waaqe'ah)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ WHEN WHAT IS to happen comes to pass -- 1 Then none will be able to deny its occurrence. 2 It will bring low (some); (and others) it will exalt; 3 when the earth shall be rocked 4 And the mountains are crumbled, crumbled. 5 And become dust dispersing. 6 And ye will be three kinds: 7 (First) those on the right hand; what of those on the right hand? 8 And (then) those on the left hand; what of those on the left hand? 9 The foremost ones (in faith and virtue) - the foremost ones in receiving their reward. 10 those are they brought nigh the Throne, 11 In gardens of tranquility; 12 a host of the ancients 13 And a few from among the latter. 14 On couches in wrought with gold. 15 reclining on them facing each other; 16 Youths of never-ending bloom will pass round to them 17 With bowls and ewers and a cup from a pure spring 18 that will neither make the head throb, nor intoxicate, 19 And fruit; that they may choose. 20 and with the flesh of any fowl that they may desire. 21 And there will be fair ones large eyed. 22 Like pearls safely hidden. 23 as reward for their deeds. 24 No empty talk will they hear there, nor any call to sin, 25 but only the tiding of inner soundness and peace. 26 As for the People on the Right, how fortunate shall be the people on the Right! 27 Midst lote-trees thornless. 28 Among Talh (banana-trees) with fruits piled one above another, 29 and shade extended, 30 And water flowing constantly, 31 And abundant fruit, 32 That will neither finish, nor ever be stopped. 33 and upraised couches. 34 and the noble maidens that We have created 35 and We made them spotless virgins, 36 Lovers, friends, 37 For the sake of the companions of the right hand. 38
