Elucidated (Fussilat)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
HaMeem. 1 A revelation from the most benevolent, ever-merciful, 2 a Book whose revelations are well expounded, an Arabic Quran for people who possess knowledge, 3 It bears glad tidings and a warning, yet most of them turn away and do not listen. 4 And say: "Our hearts are immured against what you call us to. There is a deafness in our ears, and a veil lies between us and you. So act (your way), we are acting (ours)." 5 Say, O [Muhammad], "I am only a man like you to whom it has been revealed that your god is but one God; so take a straight course to Him and seek His forgiveness." And woe to those who associate others with Allah - 6 who pay not the alms, and disbelieve in the world to come. 7 "The ones who believe and perform good deeds shall have a reward which will never be withheld from them." 8
