Overwhelming (Al-Ghaasheyah)
26 verses, revealed in Mecca after Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat) before The Cave (Al-Kahf)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
Has there reached you the report of the Overwhelming [event]? 1 [Some] faces, that Day, will be humbled, 2 Labouring, wearied out, 3 they shall burn in a Scorching Fire; 4 They will be given drink from a boiling spring. 5 No food will there be for them but a poisonous thorny plant, 6 Which will neither nourish nor satisfy hunger. 7 Faces on that day jocund, 8 With their effort [they are] satisfied 9 They shall be in a Garden lofty: 10 They shall hear therein no vain discourse; 11 Therein will be a flowing spring, 12 therein uplifted couches 13 well arranged goblets, 14 and cushions ranged, 15 And carpets spread out. 16 Will they not then consider the camels, how they are created? 17 And at the sky, how it is raised aloft? 18 and how the mountains were firmly fixed? 19 And at the earth - how it is spread out? 20 Therefore do remind, for you are only a reminder. 21 you are not their keeper. 22 As for those who turn their back and disbelieve, 23 Allah will chastise him with the most terrible chastisement. 24 Verily unto Us is their return. 25 Then surely upon Us is the taking of their account. 26

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
