And indeed this Qur’an has been sent down by the Lord Of The Creation. 192 The Trusted Spirit hath brought it down. 193 Upon your heart, [O Muhammad] - that you may be of the warners - 194 in a clear, Arabic tongue. 195 And lo! it is in the Scriptures of the men of old. 196 Is it not evidence enough for them that [so many] learned men from among the children of Israel have recognized this [as true]? 197 And had We revealed it unto any of the non-Arabs, 198 And he had read it unto them, even then they would not have been believers therein. 199 Thus do We cause (unbelief) to enter the hearts of sinners. 200 They will not believe in it until they clearly see the grievous chastisement. 201 The torment will strike them suddenly without their knowledge. 202 and then they will exclaim, "Could we have a respite?" 203 Would they (now) hasten on Our doom? 204 Tell Me, if We do let them enjoy for years, 205 and then Our torment will strike them, 206 of what avail to them will be all their past enjoyments? 207 And We did not destroy any city except that it had warners 208 To advise; and We never oppress. 209 The satans have not revealed the Quran; 210 Neither would it suit them, nor they can (produce it). 211 They have been precluded from hearing it. 212 So invoke not with Allah another ilah (god) lest you be among those who receive punishment. 213 And warn your nearest relations, 214 and be kind to your believing followers. 215 Then if they disobey you, say: "I am innocent of what you do." 216 And put thy trust in the Mighty, the Merciful. 217 Who seeth thee when thou standest up 218 and [sees] thy behaviour among those who prostrate themselves [before Him]: 219 He is All-hearing and All-knowing." 220 O people, shall I tell you on whom it is that satans descend? 221 They descend on every lying (one who tells lies), sinful person. 222 Who listens to you (for spreading rumours); but most of them are liars. 223 As for poets, only the wayward follow them. 224 Do you not see that in every valley they roam 225 and how they say that which they do not? 226 Except those who believe and do the right, and remember God a great deal, who retaliate only when they have been wronged. Yet the oppressors will now come to know through what reversals they will be overthrown! 227
