And indeed Nooh prayed to Us – so what an excellent Acceptor of Prayer We are! 75 for We saved him and his household from that awesome calamity, 76 And made his progeny to endure (on this earth); 77 And left for him among the later folk (the salutation): 78 Peace on Noah among all men. 79 Verily We! thus We recompense the well-doers. 80 Verily he was of Our bondmen believing. 81 Then We did drown the others. 82 ۞ Abraham was of the same faith: 83 When he came to his Lord with a sound heart 84 and said to his father and his people: “Whom do you worship? 85 Do you want [to bow down before] a lie - [before] deities other than God? 86 "Then what do you think about the Lord of the 'Alamin (mankind, jinns, and all that exists)?" 87 And he cast a glance at the stars, 88 and he said, 'Surely I am sick.' 89 So turning their backs, they went away from him. 90 Then he went quietly to the (temple of the deities) and said: “What is the matter with you, why do you not eat? 91 What aileth ye that ye speak not? 92 And he turned upon them smiting them with his right hand. 93 Then they advanced toward him, hastening. 94 He said: 'Do you worship what you, yourselves have carved 95 "While Allah has created you and what you make!" 96 They said: "Build for him a building (it is said that the building was like a furnace) and throw him into the blazing fire!" 97 And they designed a snare for him, but We made them the undermost. 98 (Abraham) said, "I will go to my Lord who will guide me". 99 (And he prayed:) "O Lord, grant me a righteous son." 100 We gave him the glad news of the birth of a forbearing son. 101 When he was old enough to go about with him, he said: "O my son, I dreamt that I was sacrificing you. Consider, what you think?" He replied: "Father, do as you are commanded. If God pleases you will find me firm." 102 When they had both submitted to God, and he had laid his son down on his face, 103 And We called out to him, “O Ibrahim!” 104 you have fulfilled what you were commanded to do in your dream." Thus do We reward the righteous ones. 105 for, behold, all this was indeed a trial, clear in itself. 106 And We ransomed him with a momentous sacrifice: 107 and We let it (the beautiful praise) remain upon him in the latter (generations), 108 "Peace upon Abraham." 109 Thus indeed do We reward those who do right. 110 truly, he was one of Our faithful servants. 111 And we gave him tidings of the birth of Isaac, a prophet of the righteous. 112 and blessed him and Isaac too: some of their offspring were good, but some clearly sinned against their souls. 113
