Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
By the winds that scatter the dust, 1 And those who bear the load (of rain), 2 Then those (ships) that glide easily, 3 And those [angels] apportioning [each] matter, 4 Indeed, what you are promised is true. 5 and the Day of Judgment will inevitably take place. 6 By the heaven with its passages, 7 Verily ye are in a divided opinion. 8 He is turned away from it who would be turned away. 9 May the conjecturers perish, 10 who are dazed in perplexity 11 They ask; "When will be the Day of Recompense?" 12 (It will be) a Day when they will be tried (i.e. burnt) over the Fire! 13 (and be told): “Taste your ordeal! This is what you were seeking to hasten.” 14 The pious ones will live amidst gardens and springs, 15 receiving what their Lord will give them because before this they were gooddoers. 16 They slept but a little at night, 17 and would ask for forgiveness at dawn, 18 And in their property was a portion due to him who begs and to him who is denied (good). 19 On the earth are signs for those of assured Faith, 20 And in your own souls (too); will you not then see? 21 And in the heaven is your provision and that which ye are promised. 22 By the Lord of the heavens and the earth, this is certainly true even as you speak. 23
