The people of Thamud rejected Our warnings. 23 So they said: What! a single mortal from among us! Shall we follow him? Most surely we shall in that case be in sure error and distress: 24 Hath the admonition been laid upon him from amongst us! Aye! he is a liar insolent. 25 "Tomorrow they will know who is the impudent liar! 26 Lo! We are sending the she-camel as a test for them; so watch them and have patience; 27 And tell them that the water is to be divided between them, each drink for each in turn. 28 But they called their companion, so he took (the sword) and slew (her). 29 How [terrible] were My punishment and My warnings! 30 We sent a single blast against them, and they were reduced to husks of a decayed fence. 31 Now We have made the Koran easy for Remembrance. Is there any that will remember? 32 LOT'S PEOPLE [too] gave the lie to all [Our] warnings: 33 We sent a sandstorm against them which destroyed them all, except the family of Lot, whom We saved at the break of dawn, 34 As a reward from Us; this is how We reward one who gives thanks. 35 He had warned them of Our might, but they passed over the warnings. 36 They even solicited of him his guests, but We obliterated their eyes: 'Now, taste My punishment and My warnings' 37 Early on the morrow an abiding Punishment seized them: 38 So taste My chastisement and My warning. 39 And We have indeed made the Qur'an easy to understand and remember: then is there any that will receive admonition? 40

Notes and Instructions
قراءة القرآن مترجماً إلى الإنجليزية أو أية لغة أخرى أشبه بقراءة كتب التفسير من قراءة ترجمات حرفية.
Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.
