Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
۞ No! I swear by the Day of Resurrection. 1 No! I swear by the reproachful soul! 2 Does man imagine that We will not be able to bring his bones together again? 3 Yes, We are Able to put together in perfect order the tips of his fingers. 4 But man wishes to do wrong (even) in the time in front of him. 5 he asks, "When is this Day of Resurrection to be?" 6 When the eye is bewildered, 7 and the moon is darkened, 8 when the sun and the moon are brought together, 9 upon that day man shall say, 'Whither to flee?' 10 No, there is no refuge. 11 on that Day, to your Lord alone is the recourse. 12 On that day, man will be informed of all what he sent ahead and left behind. 13 Oh, but man is a telling witness against himself, 14 Although he may put forth his pleas. 15 Do not move your tongue with it to make haste with it, 16 We shall be responsible for its collection and its recitation. 17 Therefore when We have recited it, follow its recitation. 18 Then upon Us is its clarification [to you]. 19 Truly, you love immediate gain 20 and give no thought to the life to come [and to Judgment Day]! 21 On that day, some faces will shine with freshness. 22 looking up to their Sustainer; 23 and some faces will on that Day be gloomy, 24 dreading some great affliction. 25 No! When the soul has reached the collar bones 26 and it is said: “Is there any enchanter who can step forward and help (by his chanting)?” 27 and he knows that it is the time of parting; 28 and when leg is intertwined with leg, 29 To your Lord then will be the driving. 30
