Hoarding (Al-Takaathur)
8 verses, revealed in Mecca after Bounty (Al-Kawthar) before Charity (Al-Maa'oon)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
The mutual rivalry for piling up (the good things of this world) diverts you (from the more serious things), 1 Until you come to the graves. 2 But you will come to know soon; -- 3 But you will soon come to know. 4 Nay, would that you knew with certainty of knowledge (what your attitude will lead to, you would never have acted the way you do). 5 You have indeed to behold Hell; 6 and you will see it with your own eyes. 7 Then, shall ye be questioned that Day about the joy (ye indulged in!). 8
Allah the Almighty always says the truth.
