Let the dead earth be a Sign for them. We gave it life and produced from it grain whereof they eat. 33 And We produce therein orchard with date-palms and vines, and We cause springs to gush forth therein: 34 That they may eat of the fruit thereof, and their hands made it not. Will they not, then, give thanks? 35 Glory be to Him, who created all the pairs of what the earth produces, and of themselves, and of what they know not. 36 And a sign unto them is the night. We draw off the day therefrom, and lo! they are darkened. 37 The sun is running its course to its appointed place. That is the ordaining of the All-Mighty, the All-Knowing. 38 We have ordained phases for the moon until finally it becomes like an old date-stalk. 39 The sun cannot overtake the moon, nor can the night outpace the day: each floats in [its own] orbit. 40 And a sign unto them is that We bear their offspring in a laden ship. 41 And have created for them of the like thereof whereon they ride. 42 and if We will, We drown them, then none have they to cry to, neither are they delivered, 43 Unless it be a mercy from Us, and as an enjoyment for a while. 44 Whenever they are told to guard themselves against sin and the forth coming torment so that perhaps they could receive mercy 45 Indeed, not one of your Lord's signs comes to them without their turning away from it, 46 And when it is said to them, “Spend in Allah’s cause, from what Allah has provided you”, the disbelievers say regarding the believers, “Shall we feed these, whom if Allah willed, would have fed? You are not but in open error!” 47 And they say: "When will this promise come to pass, if what you say is true?" 48 They await just one scream, which will overcome them while they are involved in worldly disputes. 49 then they will not be able to make any testament, nor will they return to their people. 50
