Incontestable (Al-Haaqqah)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
۞ THE CONCRETE REALITY. 1 How tremendous is the true event! 2 What makes you to know what the Resurrection Verifier is? 3 Thamood and Ad cried lies to the Clatterer. 4 As for Thamood, they were destroyed by the Screamer; 5 and the 'Ad were destroyed by a furious wind 6 He forced it upon them with strength, consecutively for seven nights and eight days – so you would see those people overthrown in it, like trunks of date palms fallen down. 7 Then seest thou any of them left surviving? 8 And Firaun, and those before him, and the dwellings that were inverted and thrown, had brought error. 9 and they rebelled against the Messenger of their Lord, and He seized them with a surpassing grip. 10 Surely We bore you up in the ship when the water rose high, 11 so that We might make all this a [lasting] reminder to you all, and that every wide-awake ear might consciously take it in. 12 And when the trumpet shall sound a single blast. 13 And the earth and the mountains are lifted and leveled with one blow - 14 on that Day the Great Event will come to pass. 15 And the sky will be rent asunder, for it will that Day be flimsy, 16 and the angels will stand on the sides, with eight of them bearing aloft the Throne of your Lord on that Day. 17 That Day shall ye be brought to Judgment: not an act of yours that ye hide will be hidden. 18 Then he who is given his record in his right hand will exclaim, "Here is my record, read it. 19 I was sure that the record of my deeds would be shown to me". 20 So he shall be in a life of pleasure, 21 In a lofty garden, 22 Clusters whereof shall be near at hand. 23 (And told:) "Eat and drink to your fill as reward for (good) deeds you had done in days of yore." 24 Then as to him who shall be vouchsafed his book in his left hand, he shall say: Oh! would that I had not been vouchsafed my book. 25 "And that I had never realised how my account (stood)! 26 Oh, would that it had been the ending! 27 My riches have availed me not; 28 and our belief has destroyed us". 29 The angels will be told, "Seize and chain them, 30 then cast him in the Fire, 31 "Then fasten him with a chain whereof the length is seventy cubits!" 32 Indeed, he did not use to believe in Allah, the Most Great, 33 nor would he urge the feeding of the poor. 34 Therefore he has not here today a true friend, 35 Nor food other than suppuration (filth) 36 None will eat except the Khati'un (sinners, disbelievers, polytheists, etc.). 37
