20 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Pen (Al-Qalam) before The Hidden Secret (Al-Muddath-thir)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
O thou enwrapped in thy robes, 1 Keep awake [in prayer] at night, all but a small part 2 (a half of it, or diminish a little, 3 Or a little more; and recite the Quran (aloud) in a slow, (pleasant tone and) style. 4 Behold, We shall cast upon thee a weighty word; 5 Indeed, the hours of the night are more effective for concurrence [of heart and tongue] and more suitable for words. 6 Verily, there is for you by day prolonged occupation with ordinary duties, 7 And remember the name of your Lord and devote yourself to Him with [complete] devotion. 8 Lord of the east and the west! No God is there but He! Wherefore take Him for thy trustee. 9 and endure with patience whatever people may say [against thee,] and avoid them with a comely avoidance. 10 And let Me alone with the beliers, owners of ease: and respite thou them a little. 11 We have in store for them heavy fetters and a blazing Fire, 12 And food which choketh (the partaker), and a painful doom 13 On the day when the earth and the mountains shall quake and the mountains shall become (as) heaps of sand let loose. 14 We have indeed sent a Noble Messenger towards you, a present witness over you – the way We had sent a Noble Messenger towards Firaun. 15 But Firon disobeyed the apostle, so We laid on him a violent hold. 16 If you persist in denying the truth how will you escape the Day that will turn the children's hair grey. 17 The very heaven being then rent asunder. His promise is to be fulfilled. 18 This, surely, is an admonition. So let him who will, take the right path to his Lord. 19

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
