The Hidden Secret (Al-Muddath-thir)
56 verses, revealed in Mecca after Unknown Person (Al-Muzzammil) before The Key (Al-Faatehah)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
O THOU [in thy solitude] enfolded! 1 Arise, and warn. 2 and exalt your Lord, 3 purify your garments; 4 And pollution shun. 5 And do not favour others in order to receive more. 6 But, for thy Lord's (Cause), be patient and constant! 7 When the Trumpet shall be sounded, 8 that very Day shall be a day of anguish, 9 for the unbelievers not easy. 10 Leave Me with him whom I alone have created, 11 and to whom I have granted resources in abundance, 12 And sons to be by his side!- 13 And made things easy for them. 14 Yet he desires that I should give more. 15 By no means! He has been stubbornly hostile to Our revelation: 16 On him I shall impose a fearful doom. 17 Surely he reflected and guessed, 18 So let him be cursed! How he plotted! 19 Again accursed be he, how evilly did he decide! 20 Then he considered [again]; 21 And frowned and puckered his brow, 22 then he retreated, and waxed proud. 23 Then he said: This is naught but enchantment, narrated (from others); 24 “This is nothing but the speech of a man.” 25 I will soon fling him into hell. 26 What will let you know what the Scorching is like! 27 It neither spares, nor releases, 28 it scorches the skin; 29 over it are nineteen. 30 We have appointed only angels to be wardens of the Fire. We have specified their number only as a trial for those who are bent on denying the truth, so that those who were given the Book might gain in certainty, and those who believe might increase in faith -- and so that neither those who have been given the Scripture nor the believers might have any doubts, and that those sick at heart and those who deny the truth might ask, "What does God mean by this parable?" In this way, God lets go astray whom He wills, and guides whom He wills. And none knows the forces of your Lord but He. This is but a Reminder for man. 31

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
