The News (Al-Naba')
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ Concerning what are they disputing? 1 Of the mighty Announcement, 2 About which they cannot agree. 3 No indeed; soon will they come to know; 4 Nay, again, they will come to know! 5 Have We not made the earth as a wide expanse, 6 and the mountains [its] pegs? 7 We created you in pairs, 8 And made sleep for you to rest, 9 And We made the night to be a covering, 10 And the day for seeking livelihood. 11 And constructed above you seven strong [heavens] 12 And have made (therein) a shinning lamp (sun). 13 and have sent down out of the rainclouds water cascading 14 to make the seeds, plants, 15 and gardens dense with follage. 16 Indeed the Day of Decision is a time fixed. 17 On that day the trumpet will be sounded and you will come (to Us) in huge groups. 18 And the heaven shall be opened, and it will become as gates, 19 and the mountains move, and vaporize. 20 Indeed hell is lying in ambush. 21 a goal for all who are wont to transgress the bounds of what is right! 22 there, they shall live for ages, 23 tasting therein neither coolness nor any drink 24 save boiling water and pus 25 , A fitting reward. 26 for they never expected to be called to account, 27 and they absolutely belied Our verses, 28 and everything We have numbered in a Book. 29 Therefore taste it now – We shall not increase anything for you except the punishment. 30
