The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By those [angels] who extract with violence 1 By those who gently draw out (the souls of the blessed); 2 and by [the clouds] that swim serenely and 3 and those that outstrip suddenly 4 Then arrange to do (the Commands of their Lord), 5 [HENCE, think of] the Day when a violent convulsion will convulse [the world,] 6 And there will follow it the next blast. 7 On that Day some hearts shall tremble (with fright), 8 Their eyes humbled. 9 The disbelievers say, “Will we really return to our former state?” 10 What, when we are bones old and wasted?' 11 They say: "Then this returning will be a dead loss." 12 However, it will only take a single blast 13 When lo! they shall be wakeful. 14 Have you heard the story of Moses? 15 When his Lord called him in the sacred valley of Tuwa, 16 "Go to Pharaoh. Indeed, he has transgressed. 17 and say: "Will you purify yourself, 18 And that I guide you to your Lord, so you should fear Him? 19 So he showed him the greater sign; 20 but he denied it and refused [the faith]. 21 Then he turned his back, striving hard (against Allah). 22 and gathered his people and declared: 23 Saying, "I am your Lord, Most High". 24 So Allah seized him with the punishment of the Everlasting Life, and of this world. 25 Most surely there is in this a lesson to him who fears. 26
