Hizb 46
< random >
Verily Jonah is one of the apostles. 139 Recall what time he ran away unto a laden ship. 140 And he drew lots and was among the losers. 141 Then the big Fish did swallow him, and he had done acts worthy of blame. 142 Had he not been of them who glorify Allah, 143 he would have tarried in its belly until the day they shall be raised; 144 ۞ but We caused him to be cast forth on a desert shore, sick [at heart] as he was, 145 We made a plant of gourd grow up for him. 146 And We sent him towards a hundred thousand people, in fact more. 147 And they believed, whrefore We let them enjoy life for a season. 148 Now ask them (O Muhammad): Hath thy Lord daughters whereas they have sons? 149 Or did We create the angels females, while they were witnesses? 150 Now surely it is of their own lie that they say: 151 Allah hath begotten. Allah! verily they tell a lie. 152 Hath He chosen daughters above sons? 153 What is the matter with you, how is it that you judge? 154 What, will you not remember? 155 Or have you received some clear authority? 156 Then produce your writ, if ye are truthful. 157 They have set up a kinship between Him and the jinn; and the jinn know that they shall be arraigned. 158 (They say): “Exalted be Allah above what they attribute to Him, 159 all of them except the chosen servants of Allah. 160 For, verily, neither ye nor those ye worship- 161 You cannot tempt [anyone] away from Him 162 except for he who shall roast in Hell. 163 [The angels say], "Every single one of us has his place assigned: 164 we are the rangers, 165 We glorify God." 166 And indeed they used to say: 167 “If only we had the Reminder which had been granted to the people of yore 168 we would surely have been Allah's chosen servants.” 169 But (now that the Quran has come) they disbelieve therein (i.e. in the Quran and in Prophet Muhammad SAW, and all that which he brought, the Divine Revelation), so they will come to know! 170 Our Word had already preceded Our worshipers, the Messengers, 171 that it is certainly they who will be helped; 172 And that certainly Our armies will be victorious. 173 So, (O Prophet), leave them alone for a while, 174 And watch them, for they will soon see. 175 Do they wish (indeed) to hurry on our Punishment? 176 But when it shall descend in their court, evil shall then be the morning of the warned ones. 177 Withdraw from them awhile 178 and see, soon they shall see! 179 Glory be to thy Lord, the Lord of Glory, above that they describe! 180 And peace is upon the Noble Messengers. 181 and all praise be to Allah, the Lord of the Universe. 182
God the Almighty always says the truth.
End of Surah: The Arrangers (Al-Saaffaat). Sent down in Mecca after Animals (Al-An 'aam) before Luqmaan (Luqmaan)
