So remind [O Muhammad], for you are not, by the favor of your Lord, a soothsayer or a madman. 29 Or do they say [of you], "A poet for whom we await a misfortune of time?" 30 Say thou: wait verily I am, with you, among the waiters. 31 Nay! do their understandings bid them this? Or are they an inordinate people? 32 Or say they: he hath fabricated it: aye they will not believe. 33 So let them bring a single discourse like it, if they are truthful. 34 Or were they created by nothing, or were they the creators [of themselves]? 35 [And] have they created the heavens and the earth? Nay, but they have no certainty of anything! 36 Do they own the treasures of your Lord, or have they been given charge of them? 37 Or have they a ladder, by which they can (climb up to heaven and) listen (to its secrets)? Then let (such a) listener of theirs produce a manifest proof. 38 Or has He daughters while you have sons? 39 Or askest thou (Muhammad) a fee from them so that they are plunged in debt? 40 Or is the hidden with them, by which they pass judgements? 41 Or do they intend a plan? But those who disbelieve - they are the object of a plan. 42 Or have they a god other than God? Exalted be God over what they ascribe as partners [to Him]! 43 If they should see a segment falling from the sky, they would say: "It is only a massive cloud." 44 So, leave them until they face their day (of doom) when they will be stunned. 45 the day when their guile shall avail them naught, and they shall not be helped. 46 And indeed for the unjust is another punishment before this, but most of them do not know. (Punishment in the grave is proven by this verse.) 47 And wait thou patiently the judgment of thy Lord; verily thou art before Our eyes; and hallow the praise of thy Lord when thou uprisest. 48 And in the night time, also glorify His Praises, and at the setting of the stars. 49
