Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ I swear by the Day of Resurrection. 1 and nay, I swear by the self-reproaching soul! 2 Does man assume that We will never assemble his bones? 3 Indeed yes, We are able to shape his fingerstips yet again! 4 But man desires to continue in sin. 5 asking, 'When shall be the Day of Resurrection?' 6 But when the sight is dazed 7 And the moon will be eclipsed, 8 and the sun and moon are brought together, 9 That day man will say: "Where can I find escape?" 10 No! There is no refuge. 11 With your Lord alone will be the retreat on that day. 12 On that Day will man be apprised of his deeds, both the earlier and the later. 13 Rather, man, against himself, will be a witness, 14 even though he offer his excuses. 15 Stir not thy tongue herewith to hasten it. 16 Indeed assembling the Qur’an and reading it are upon Us. 17 So when We have read it, you should thereupon follow what is read. 18 Then it is for Us (Allah) to make it clear to you, 19 NAY, but [most of] you love this fleeting life, 20 and neglect the life to come. 21 [Some] faces, that Day, will be radiant, 22 Looking to their Lord. 23 And on that Day there shall be scowling faces, 24 Imagining that there will befall them a waiste-breaking calomity. 25 Nay! When it comes up to the throat, 26 And it is cried. who can charm? 27 the while he [himself] knows that this is the parting, 28 and leg is intertwined with leg, 29 upon that day unto thy Lord shall be the driving. 30
