The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By the heaven, and At-Tariq (the night-comer, i.e. the bright star); 1 And what can make you know what is the night comer? 2 (It is) the Star of piercing brightness;- 3 Over every soul there is a watcher. 4 Let man reflect on what he was created from. 5 He was created of a gushing fluid, 6 issuing from between the backbone and the breastbone: 7 God has all power to resurrect him. 8 On the Day when secrets are disclosed, 9 Then man will have no power or any helper. 10 By the sky with its returning rain, 11 And [by] the earth which cracks open, 12 surely it is a decisive word; 13 And is not a matter of amusement. 14 As for them, they are but plotting a scheme, 15 but I shall bring all their scheming to nought. 16 Give respite to the disbelievers and leave them alone for a while. 17
Allah Almighty has spoken the truth.
