Believers, do not forbid the wholesome good things, which God made lawful to you. Do not transgress; God does not love the transgressors. 87 Thus, partake of the lawful, good things which God grants you as sustenance, and be conscious of God, in whom you believe. 88 Allah will not call you to account for what is futile in your oaths, but He will call you to account for your deliberate oaths: for expiation, feed ten indigent persons, on a scale of the average for the food of your families; or clothe them; or give a slave his freedom. If that is beyond your means, fast for three days. That is the expiation for the oaths ye have sworn. But keep to your oaths. Thus doth Allah make clear to you His signs, that ye may be grateful. 89 O ye who believe! Intoxicants and gambling, (dedication of) stones, and (divination by) arrows, are an abomination,- of Satan's handwork: eschew such (abomination), that ye may prosper. 90 satan seeks to stir up enmity and hatred among you by means of wine and gambling, and to bar you from the remembrance of Allah and from praying. Will you not abstain from them? 91 Obey God and the Prophet, and beware. If you turn away, remember, that the duty of Our Apostle is to give you a clear warning. 92 The righteously striving believers will not be blamed for what they have eaten, if they maintain piety, do good deeds, have faith, and be charitable. God loves the generous people. 93
