۞ Have you not seen those who act hypocritically? They say to their disbelieving companions from among the People of the Book, "If you are driven out we shall surely go out with you, and we shall never listen to anyone against you, and if war is waged against you, we shall help you." God bears witness that they are indeed liars. 11 If they are expelled, never will they go out with them; and if they are attacked (in fight), they will never help them; and if they do help them, they will turn their backs; so they will receive no help. 12 They are more in dread of you than of God, because they are people devoid of understanding. 13 They will not fight you in a body except in fortified cities, or from behind the walls. Their enmity among themselves is great. You think they are united, but divided are their hearts. That is because these people are devoid of sense, 14 Like those before them shortly; they tasted the evil result of their affair, and they shall have a painful punishment. 15 They are like satan who said to people, "Reject the faith," but when the people rejected the faith he said, "I have nothing to do with you. I fear the Lord of the Universe". 16 Their end shall be that they live for ever in the Fire. That is the recompense of the harmdoers. 17
