And indeed this Qur’an has been sent down by the Lord Of The Creation. 192 Which the True Spirit hath brought down 193 Upon thy heart, that thou mayest be of the warners, 194 in a clear, Arabic tongue. 195 And indeed, it is [mentioned] in the scriptures of former peoples. 196 Was it not a proof for them that the learned men of Israel knew about this? 197 And if We had revealed it unto one of any other nation than the Arabs, 198 And he had recited it to them, and they had not believed (it would have been different). 199 Thus have We caused it to enter into the hearts of the guilty. 200 They will not believe in it to the extent that they see the painful punishment. 201 So it will come upon them suddenly, whilst they will be unaware. 202 Then they will say: "Can we be respited?" 203 So for Our punishment are they impatient? 204 Therefore observe, that if We give them some comforts for some years, – 205 And then cometh that which they were promised, 206 It will profit them not that they enjoyed (this life)! 207 We never destroyed a village that did not have warners 208 for a reminder, and We never harmed. 209 Not by the Satans has it been brought down; 210 Neither would it suit them, nor they can (produce it). 211 Most surely they are far removed from the hearing of it. 212 (Muhammad), do not worship anything besides God lest you suffer the punishment. 213 And warn [whomever thou canst reach, beginning with] thy kinsfolk, 214 Lower thy wing to those who follow thee, being believers; 215 If they do not obey you, tell them: "I am not responsible for what you do." 216 And put your trust in Him Who is Immensely Mighty, Most Compassionate, 217 Who seeth thee standing forth (in prayer), 218 And thy movements among those who fall prostrate. 219 Verily! He, only He, is the All-Hearer, the All-Knower. 220 Shall I inform you upon whom the devils descend? 221 They come to every sinful liar. 222 who readily lend ear [to every falsehood,] and most of whom lie to others as well. 223 As for poets, only the wayward follow them. 224 Have you not seen them wandering and bewildered in every valley 225 And that they say what they practise not?- 226 except those who believed and acted righteously and remembered Allah much, and when they themselves were subjected to wrong, they exacted retribution no more than to the extent of the wrong? Soon will the wrong-doers know the end that they shall reach. 227
