Vanity (Al-Zukhruf)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
Ha. Mim. 1 By the Clear Book; 2 We have made it an Arabic Koran in order that you understand. 3 It is in the Origin of the Book with Us, sublime and wise. 4 Shall We then (warn you not and) take away the Reminder (this Quran) from you, because you are a people Musrifun 5 And how many a prophet did We send to people of olden times! 6 And whenever any Prophet came to them, they only mocked at him. 7 So We destroyed (them)- stronger in power than these;- and (thus) has passed on the Parable of the peoples of old. 8 And if you should ask them, "Who has created the heavens and the earth?" they would surely say, "They were created by the Exalted in Might, the Knowing." 9 Who has made the earth a cradle for you and made thereon paths for you so that, hopefully, you may find your way 10 And (it is He), who sends down water from the sky in its measure thereby We revive the land that was dead, as such you shall be brought forth. 11 And Who hath treated the pairs, all of them, and appointed for you from ships and cattle things whereon ye ride. 12 In order that you may mount firmly on their backs, and then may remember the Favour of your Lord when you mount thereon, and say: "Glory to Him who has subjected this to us, and we could never have it (by our efforts)." 13 And to our Lord we shall surely return." 14 And they appoint for Him from His bondmen a part! Verily man is an ingrate manifest. 15
