The Galaxies (Al-Burooj)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
By the heavens with constellations, 1 by the Promised Day, 2 And by the witnessing day (i.e. Friday), and by the witnessed day [i.e. the day of 'Arafat (Hajj) the ninth of Dhul-Hijjah]; 3 (Self-)destroyed were the owners of the ditch 4 Of the fire (kept burning) with fuel, 5 When they sat by it 6 Witnessing what they had done to the believers! 7 And they resented them not except because they believed in Allah, the Exalted in Might, the Praiseworthy, 8 To Him only belongs the kingship of the heavens and the earth; and Allah is a Witness over all things. 9 Verily those who affected the believing men and the believing women, and then repented not, theirs shall be the torment of Hell, and theirs shall be the torment of burning. 10 Lo! those who believe and do good works, theirs will be Gardens underneath which rivers flow. That is the Great Success. 11 VERILY, thy Sustainer's grip is exceedingly strong! 12 It is He who originates and repeats. 13 and He is the All-forgiving, the All-loving, 14 Owner of the throne, the Glorious 15 He does what He intends (or wills). 16 Has the story reached you of the hosts, 17 Of Fir'aun (Pharaoh) and Thamud? 18 But they who disbelieve are in [persistent] denial, 19 However, God encompassed their activities. 20 Nay! it is a glorious Quran, 21 in a Guarded Tablet. 22
