And indeed Nuh (Noah) invoked Us, and We are the Best of those who answer (the request). 75 And We rescued him and his household from the great calamity. 76 and We made his offspring the only survivors. 77 and We established for him a good name among posterity. 78 Peace and salutation to Nuh among the nations. 79 Verily, thus do We reward the doers of good 80 He is indeed one of Our high ranking, firmly believing bondmen. 81 Then afterwards We drowned the rest. 82 ۞ Abraham was of the same faith: 83 When he came to his Lord with a pure heart [attached to Allah Alone and none else, worshipping none but Allah Alone true Islamic Monotheism, pure from the filth of polytheism]. 84 When he said to his father and his people: What is it that you worship? 85 Is it false deities that you want to serve rather than Allah? 86 What do you imagine the Lord of the worlds to be?" 87 Then he looked up at the stars (they worshipped), 88 And he said: verily I am about to be sick. 89 And they turned their backs on him and went away. (The pagans thought he would transmit the disease). 90 Then he turned to their gods, and said: 'What do you eat? 91 "What is the matter with you that you speak not?" 92 And he turned upon them smiting them with his right hand. 93 Thereupon the people came running to him. 94 Abraham said to them: “Do you worship what you yourselves have carved with your own hands 95 and God created you and what you make?' 96 They said, "Build a pyre for him and throw him into the blaze!" 97 They desired to outwit him; so We made them the lower ones. 98 And [then] he said, "Indeed, I will go to [where I am ordered by] my Lord; He will guide me. 99 Lord, grant me a righteous son." 100 So We gave him tidings of a gentle son. 101 And [one day,] when [the child] had become old enough to share in his [father's] endeavours, the latter said: "O my dear son! I have seen in a dream that I should sacrifice thee: consider, then, what would be thy view!" [Ishmael] answered: "O my father! Do as thou art bidden: thou wilt find me, if God so wills, among those who are patient in adversity!" 102 When they had surrendered, and he flung him upon his brow, 103 We called to him, "Abraham, 104 You have fulfilled the vision." Indeed, We thus reward the doers of good. 105 It was certainly an open trial. 106 We ransomed him with a great sacrifice, 107 and left him thus to be remembered among later generations: 108 "Peace and salutation to Abraham!" 109 That is how We recompense the righteous: 110 Indeed, he was of Our believing servants. 111 And We gave him the glad tidings of Is-haq, a prophet, and of the righteous. 112 And We blessed him and Isaac. Among the offspring of the two some did good and some plainly wronged themselves. 113
