The Mountain (Al-Toor)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
By the Mount (of Revelation); 1 and by the Book in lines 2 on unrolled parchment, 3 And the House (Kaaba) that is visited, 4 Consider the vault [of heaven] raised high! 5 and by the swelling sea, 6 Verily the torment of thine Lord is sure to befalls 7 There is none that can ward it off. 8 On the Day when the heaven will shake with a dreadful shaking, 9 and the mountains move, moving. 10 So woe on that day to those who reject (the truth), 11 and who indulged in false disputes against (God's revelations). 12 On that Day when they shall be pitched into the Fire of Gehenna (Hell), 13 This is the Fire which ye were wont to believe. 14 "Is this then a fake, or is it ye that do not see? 15 [Enter to] burn therein; then be patient or impatient - it is all the same for you. You are only being recompensed [for] what you used to do." 16 Verily the God-fearing will be in Gardens and Delight. 17 Enjoying the (Bliss) which their Lord hath bestowed on them, and their Lord shall deliver them from the Penalty of the Fire. 18 "Eat and drink with good cheer as a reward for your good deeds," 19 They would recline on couches set in rows, paired with fair companions (clean of thought and) bright of eye. 20 And those who believe and whose progeny follow them in belief. We shall cause their progeny to join them, and We shall not diminish unto them aught of their own work. Every man is for that which he hath earned a pledge. 21 And We shall increasingly give them fruit and meat such as they desire. 22 They will pass cups of un-intoxicating and unsinful wine to one another. 23 ۞ and youths, of their own, shall pass among them as if they were hidden pearls. 24 And they [who are thus blest] will turn to one another, asking each other [about their past lives]. 25 They will say: "Aforetime, we were not without fear for the sake of our people. 26 "But Allah has been good to us, and has delivered us from the Penalty of the Scorching Wind. 27 Before, we were supplicating to Him. He is the Giving, the Most Merciful' 28
