The Moon (Al-Qamar)
55 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Comet (Al-Taareq) before S (Saad)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
The hour drew nigh and the moon was rent in twain. 1 And when they see a sign, they turn away and say, “Just a customary magic!” 2 They reject (the warning) and follow their (own) lusts but every matter has its appointed time. 3 And surely there hath come unto them news whereof the purport should deter, 4 far-reaching wisdom [was held out to them]: but [since] all warnings have been of no avail, 5 So withdraw from them (O Muhammad) on the day when the Summoner summoneth unto a painful thing. 6 With looks downcast they will come forth, from the tombs, as though they were locusts scattered abroad. 7 Hastening toward the summoner. The infidels will say: this is a day diffrcult. 8 ۞ Before them the People of Noah rejected (their messenger): they rejected Our servant, and said, "Here is one possessed!", and he was driven out. 9 He therefore prayed to his Lord, “I am overpowered, therefore avenge me.” 10 So We opened the gates of heaven, with water pouring forth. 11 And caused the earth to gush forth springs, so that the waters met for a predestined purpose. 12 But We bore him on a (vessel made) of planks and oakum, 13 Sailing, before Our eyes, a reward for him who was denied. 14 And We left the Ark as a Sign. Is there, then, any who will take heed? 15 And how [severe] were My punishment and warning. 16 We have made the Koran easy to remember, is there any that will remember! 17 The people of 'Ad too rejected the truth. How terrible was My punishment and My warning. 18 Lo! We let loose on them a raging wind on a day of constant calamity, 19 Plucking out men as if they were uprooted stems of date-palms. 20 How then were My chastisement and My warnings? 21 We have made it easy to learn lessons from the Quran: is there anyone who would receive admonition? 22

Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.
When reading the Colorful Quran in English transliterated Arabic mode, you may not notice that there is an algorithm designed to match the pause requirements of the original Arabic scripture, (waqf signs). As you may know, the original Arabic Quran has five main types of pauses, (waqf) signs. (1) Compulsory break, where the transliteration uses a full stop. (2) Optional pause with the preference for pausing, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a probability of two thirds. (3) Optional stop with an equal preference for pausing and resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a half-half probability. (4) Optional pause with the preference for resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a chance of one third. (5) Attraction pause, also called hugging, or (mu’anaka) sign, where it is compulsory to pause at either one of two nearby positions, but not both; where the transliteration inserts a comma at either one of the two locations with a half-half probability.
